Hi
I never had much
joy with kites as a kid, the best I managed was dragging a small paper
diamond on a long length of string along the ground.
Last year my
brother Mark (MarqueeMark), convinced me to come Power Kiting with him, it
was at Royston Heath, the weather was overcast and quite windy. I'd just
started a new job at and was wearing a brand new jacket bought 2 days
earlier. It was cold and I thought what’s the worse that can happen. Mark
handed me handles to his 3m Buster and moments later I was being dragged on
my back across the cricket pitch. My jacket was a mess !!!.
This did not put me off however, from then on I flew most week nights on the
Heath, and on the weekends at Baiter park in Poole.
I bought my first
land board, a Flexifoil Kava and started kite boarding, I picked it up quite
quickly probably due to the years I spent skateboarding in the 80s.
I’ve only owned 2
kites, a 4.5 Bullet, and 6.6 Blade III, but I normally have a few others
that I’ve got on a permanent loan from my brother along with his MBS land
board.
I've not flown so much this year, probably due to not living near Royston,
but my plans are to get back there soon. So watch this space...
