Today was the
Royston Kite Festival and we had wind for the first time in a great many
years, although this was not surprising as so many of us couldn't fly
either at all or to any great amount due to our recent injuries..
Thanks to
Flexifoils generous donation of a 5.5m
Bullet we managed to raise £286 for the chosen Charities this year which
were the Hertfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre and Cancer
Research UK.
The only downsides
of the day was a broken Ankle sustained by a member of Team Adrenalize
during a Demo while he was doing jumps on a Flexi Airdeck below a 10m
Frenzy, ironically the accident happened as he stepped off the board
after landing near the edge of the arena, a young kid in the crowd was
also slightly hurt as the board
rolled out of the arena. Later, Stuart Fletcher was hurt when he took a
tumble whilst flying his large stack of Flexifoil Stackers in his
afternoon performance.
On a plus side,
the weather stayed fine with plenty of wind and lots of people staying
to watch the events all day long. Lots of our friends came along from
Cambridge and
Hatfield kite clubs and had a great
time as well, don't forget to send me any pictures guys.
